44-6165 LADY GAY
Major Samuel Kemp Clifford was a bomber pilot of the B-17 "Lady Gay" and "Four Fan Anne". Major Clifford was a member of the 452nd Bomb Group, 729th Bomb Squad of the "Mighty Eighth" Air Force stationed in England. Major Clifford flew 22 combat missions over Germany and 3 mercy missions to drop food supplies over Holland.

The two pictures on the left were contributed by Jody Stiff, whose
father was Raymond Jack Stiff, nicknamed "Slick". He was a tail
gunner on the Lady Gay, along with the rest of his crew, known as
the "Sunshine Boys".
"Slick" flew 26 missions while serving his country. He passed
away in 1997.
