SSGT Holmes and his fellow crew also flew on the

Holmes, son of William for this picture. I'm also happy to report
that his father is alive and well. Thanks for your service, Sarge!

Here's a great website that tells the story
of a previous crew(Captain James
Pinson/Pilot) of the Dog Breath with plenty
of great pictures.

Dog Breath was shot up badly, losing 2 engines and
instruments on a bombing run over Corme Ecluse near
Bordeaux, France. The pilot 2LT Clark G. Graham, not
knowing where they were, flew out over the Bay of
Biscay intending to ditch in the ocean. After asking the
crew, all decided to take there chances over land.
After losing power and fuel they could not stay
airborne, so they crash landed on a road and found out
they were in Spain.   The crew survived and returned
to duty several months later, where they were
assigned to the B-17 Sack Time Sioux.
